Service-Oriented Architectures are becoming a dominant paradigm for the integration of heterogeneous systems. However, Service-Oriented-based applications are highly dynamic and liable to change significantly at runtime. This justifies the need for monitoring composed services throughout the lifetime of the service execution. In this paper we propose a simple approach to monitor services at runtime and to ensure that services behave as they have promised. Services are composed as BPEL processes which can then be monitored during execution. The proposed idea is still at an early stage of development and we therefore discuss possible directions for development in the future.
